Tragus:  Etymology | History or Origin

Origin: It is a latin word

Derived from Greek word 'tragos'  meaning 'goat'

Definition:

(1) It is cartilaginous prominence in front of the external opening of the external ear.

(2) It is a tuft of hairs growing at the prominence in front of external opening of ear.

So question arises, Why is it called tragus or goat?

N.B: Because the tuft of hairs resembles the beard of a goat.
