Rhinitis:

Rhin(o)- [it is derived from the Greek word rhis, gen., Rhinos = nose]

Definition:
Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nose.

Allergic rhinitis:

A General term used to denote any allergic reaction of the nasal mucosa;
1. It may occur perennially (non seasonal allergic rhinitis)
2. Seasonally (Hay fever)
